Jessie Nathaniel Geddie was born 4 January 1895 in Van Zandt County, Texas and died 16 November, 1970 in Campbell, Santa Clara County, California. He married Emma Elizabeth Thornton who was born  29 May 1892 in Elmore County, Alabama and died 23 November 1970 in Campbell, Santa Clara County, California.  Jessie Nathaniel was the son of William Hiram Geddie and Lula Moseley.  Children of Jess & Emma:  Effie Lula Geddie, Minnie Lee Geddie, William Edward Geddie and Edgar Austin Geddie.

Paid to Gaddy (Jam)es, #4263, Wilmington District, for militia service, 27 February, 1783 and for Geddie, James, #56, Wilmington District, unspecified claims, 14 August, 1783.


FAMILY HISTORY OF JAMES DANIEL GEDDIE 

Born Abt. 1750 in Scotland, and died Abt. 1821. He married ISABELLA MCPHAIL.  The children of JAMES GEDDIE and ISABELLA MCPHAIL are:  JAMES DANIEL GEDDIE, b. Abt. 1771; d. Abt. 1841;  DOUGALD GEDDIE.; SARAH GEDDIE;  ELIZABETH ANN GEDDIE, b. 1802;JOHN "BIG JOHN" GEDDIE, b. 1782,  d. 14 March 1841;  THOMAS GEDDIE, b. 1790;  ALEXANDER GEDDIE, b. 25 August 1792; m. (1) UNKNOWN; m. (2) ANNA MCMILLAN, 04 June 1815..
    James Daniel may have had two brothers, and if he did, they were John Geddie and Thomas Geddie. James Daniel Geddie fought in the North Carolina Militia during the Revolutionary War. He is listed in "Soldiers of North Carolina in the American Revolution" compiled by the North Carolina chapter of the Daughters of the American Republic.  Testimony to this fact lies today in the vouchers in Box B-1, The Comptroller's Office, North Carolina Archives, Voucher No. 1587 lists James Daniel Geddie and indicates he was paid for his services.  James Daniel had several sons and some daughters.  The daughters' names have been lost in matrimony, except one who married Alexander McAllister and Elizabeth who married Alexander McKeithan.
