BOOK DESCRIPTION
STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND
by Robert A. Heinlein. New York:
G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1961.
Hardcover. No dust jacket. First Edition, Mixed Printing (contains elements of
both first and early printings; there is no "C22" code on Page 408,
yet no other printings are mentioned on copyright page nor a Library of
Congress number as on all later printings),
thus a very early printing. In light green
board wraps, the book measures
5.5" x 8.5" and contains 414 pages. This is not a reprint, not
ex-library, not book-of-month club, rather an extremely scarce
true first
edition of Robert Heinlein's classic work of Science Fiction, winner
of the Hugo Award.
CONDITION
The STRANGER IN A
STRANGE LAND
hardbound cover is in Good+/Very Good- condition due to corner and
spine bumps and the rear spine flap showing a thin cut line. The spine
and binding are not
affected other than a half-inch 'half-moon' mark at base of spine as
seen in photos -- the block is very tight with no loose pages or fraying, The book interior is in Very Good+/Fine- condition. The pages
are bright and crisp, with no marks, rips, dampstains or creases other
than previous owner name in small handwriting at top of otherwise blank front free
end page. A very few pages have small marginal spots of foxing which do
not affect text. There is very slight age-toning throughout, as would be
expected in a book of this age.
