JACK GEDDIE as he appeared at the 1940 U.S. Democratic National
Convention held at Chicago Stadium in
Chicago, Illinois from July 15 to July 18, 1940.
The convention nominated Franklin Delano Roosevelt as President for
his third and final term. Jack attended the convention alongside other
Texan delegates including Lyndon Baines Johnson, Sam Rayburn, and John
Connelly.

Rev. John Geddie, D. D.
Born in Banff, Scotland in 1815. Brought to Pictou, Nova Scotia, by his parents in 1816. Ordained and settled on Prince Edward Island in 1838. Sent as the pioneer Presbyterian missionary from Canada, to the New Hebrides in 1846. Died in Australia in 1872. [Photo & biography courtesy Joan Peters, Wodonga Australia]
Kingston-on-Spey, Scotland -1870's MILLBANK, the house where my Grandparents lived (and where my uncle Hamish Geddie then lived) is on the far right.
